LAUDANUM
"The Coronation" 2xLP
LIFE 041 - Out Now!!
CD on 20 BUCK SPIN
LAUDANUM
returns after belting out a thunderous split with STORMCROW and the
criminally underrated debut CD, THE APOTHEKER. THE CORONATION is a 40+
minute hellride into a bleak and vast forest of doom and despair, a
serenade of blistering guitars, steamrolling distorted bass, vocals
tainted with battery acid and a landscape of crushing electronic sine
waves. "Corrosive doom nihilism and industrial noise wasteland,
ambient texture and punishing sludge from Oakland" - 20 Buck Spin.
Founding members Becky and Judd Hawk are now joined with Life is Abuse
veteranos Greg Wilkenson (BRAINOIL) and Nathan Misterek (GRAVES AT SEA)
to unleash this blackened opus of OSCILLOSCOPE DOOM. This release
is a first pressing of 500 pcs (300 on black vinyl / 200 on clear only
available on tour and thru mailorder) packaged in a widespine jacket,
along w. lyric sheet and a foldout 3 color silkscreened poster.

LUDICRA
"Hollow Psalms"- 2xLP
LIFE 022
Release date - Spring 2010
Originally released
on CD in 2002, HOLLOW PSALMS was a burley 50-minute 8-song opus packaged
in story-book digi-pak format. Full on blackmetal / grind from San Francisco
with guttural female vocals, jackhammer blast-beats, punishing doom
stricken gloom and delicate instrumental interludes. This is black metal,
but expect no Norway worship here, songs about snowy mountain peaks,
or panda bear make-up. It is black metal by default only, and depressing
and harsh by circumstance. Still going strong after a decade, members
of Ludicra have also been quite prolific with a number of other bands...
Hammers of Misfortune, Fölcainö, Impaled, Ominum, Agalloch,
Wolves in the Throne Room, Phobia, and the Lord Weird Slough Feg. The
band sites as musical influences "ruination and rebar, pathos and
pavement, catharsis and concrete", while their sound compares to
the likes of Enslaved, Mayhem, Bethlehem, Dark Throne, and Dodheimsgard.
The vinyl version is FINALLY coming out after years of delays... 2xLP
mastered at 45rpm, packaged in a custom silkscreened foldout cover.
Hopefully. Stay tuned... we'll see what happens.
